History
Since 1885 in Milan a beautiful story of Italian entrepreneurship
1885
Few people know that the history of Gandus Saldatrici began in Milan way back in 1885, the year in which Pasteur experimented with his first vaccines and France gave the Statue of Liberty to the city of New York.
Way back in 1885, a distinguished gentleman named Prospero Gandus founded the company that bears his surname, starting to produce paper bags to contain sewing machine needles, bags made strictly by hand.
World wars come, each time Mr. Gandus’ company stops and each time it starts up again, clashing with destruction but relying on the willpower to start over every time, to face new challenges and to grow continuously.
1945-1954
The end of the Second World War arrives and so does the sad passing of Mr. Gandus. His place is taken by his daughter Lidia, an energetic young girl who does not give up in the face of the difficulty of recovery after the total destruction and who, together with Mr. Giancarlo, rebuilds what has been destroyed. They continue to work in the sector, laying the foundations for one of the longest and most significant collaborations of their lives, both professional and private.
Lidia and Giancarlo soon realized that their skills were complementary and winning for a solid and lasting partnership, based on trust, integrity and sharing common goals, which would push them to face increasingly bigger and more ambitious challenges. Together.
Despite the difficulties encountered along the way, economic crises, technological changes and personal challenges, Lidia and Giancarlo remain united with their project. In 1954, with the advent of polyethylene bags, their company entered the world of packaging machines, designing and building the first impulse sealing machine for their closure.
The success was immediate and the brand established itself on the market thanks to its professionalism, reliability and high and consistent quality over time.
1980
In the 80s Gandus Saldatrici responded to the request of a large global company and developed the first sealing machine model dedicated to the medical world, for closing sterilization bags.
The market’s appreciation was immediate and enthusiastic.
The constant growth, based on the high quality of the products, allows Gandus Saldatrici to establish itself as a national and international point of reference in the world of packaging for the Medical, Parmaceutical and LifeScience industries.
The 80s also saw the entry of Lidia and Giancarlo’s son, Nicola, into the Gandus company, eager to put into practice the skills acquired during years of study.
Start from the lowest rung, as has always been done in large entrepreneurial families that are based on competence, reliability, humility and common sense.
He soon becomes a point of reference inside and outside the company, starting to take over the reins of management in foreign markets.
